The use of blogs was encouraged among young people and youth workers thus approximately 50% of all blogs was crated and maintained by 13 to 19- years- olds. The space is available for personal use, free of charge and is not accessible to others without the owner's permission to view it.

How to get started?

You need the diary, images, links to websites that people likes and links to other blog sites to attract visitors and create an interesting experience in a blog however, awareness of attracting unwelcome visitors should be observed properly treating any communication or contract from a stranger with extreme caution. HP is not liable for any contacts or communication connected with the use of web log.

So, HOW to blog in five easy steps?

1. Sign-up for a weblog account. The easiest way of blogging is having an access to the different free web log publishing sites.

You can find them by typing 'weblogs' or 'web logs' into a search engine besides it is normally free and provides you with all the publishing tools needed like an area to type your text into before the blog goes live.

2. Choose a name for your blog. To give your blogging site an interesting title, using pseudonyms that most people use is encouraged. It is also recommended to tell your kids not to put any personal details into their blogs for safety purposes.

3. Create a weblog template. This is not a problem because the weblog publishing site made this very easy. Ranges of templates to get you up, running it as quickly and easily possible are provided however creating your own template is another option to choose from. This is often attractive to kids because they have the fun of choosing the colors, designs and type of fonts used.

4. Start blogging. You can start writing after the template has been chosen. The fun part was you, your kids or whoever is blogging can write anything that comes to mind. It sometimes advised to write about their day at school if the kids are a bit stuck.

5. Don't just write. Remember blogging is not only writing down thoughts or descriptions of the day thus good blogs made links to other blog sites and interesting websites that suits your personality.

Law Of Attraction Tip: Your Outer Reality Is A Reflection Of Your Inner Self

Law Of Attraction Tip: Your Outer Reality Is A Reflection Of Your Inner Self
by: Maria Meiners

i

One of the most important (and telling) indicators of the way your outer reality will look is how you feel about the person you see in the mirror.

If you don't like that person, find fault and are critical then chances are you'll also find fault, be critical and generally not like the world around you either. And conversely if you love the person in the mirror and are supportive and cheerful then you will find yourself living in a loving, supportive and generally happy world.

It's very simple really: Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.

And a very easy way to catch a glimpse of that inner world is to look in the mirror. Go on....go take a look....I'll wait :^)

So what did you see? Do you like that person? Is that person full of great qualities? Would you be that person's best friend? Can you honestly look that person in the eye and say, "Wow, you're amazing!"

If your answers were less than positive don't despair. The truth is that the vast majority of people think less of themselves than they do of complete strangers.

But you can change that, starting right now. Begin by making a decision that starting right now you are going to have a new best friend and that person is YOU. Decide that you will love yourself regardless of your flaws and imperfections (think about it - would you dump a really good friend just because they weren't perfect) and that you will become your own greatest supporter and cheerleader.

This doesn't mean that you have to lie to yourself or spout false (and unbelievable) affirmations about how stunning you are. It does mean that you have to stop beating yourself up and focus on your good qualities instead.

Once you get in the habit of doing this I promise that the person in the mirror will change to reflect your new self-image. And as that happens the outer world will change too....and I think you're going to like that new reality :)

People Who Are Confused Take No Action

People Who Are Confused Take No Action
by: Roseanna Leaton

i

To have clarity of intent both logically and emotionally is essential to the successful completion of any task. It is very easy to be in two minds over things. Life is, after all, our own subjective experience and every circumstance we are faced with becomes another learning curve. In most situations we do not have a practice run to see how things turn out; all that we can do is to try and work out what might happen if we act in this way or that.

There is no exact science to living one's life, although there's many a time when one might wish there were. It can seem that it would be easier of you were just told what you should do. But this is not really the case; this is your life that you are living and it is up to you to take control and direct yourself to where you want to be.

Often you may feel that you only have two choices, but if you were to look a little further you would realize that there are probably an infinite number of choices which you could make. One thing is for sure is that if you keep sitting on the fence...you will remain exactly where you are, sitting on the fence, and many an opportunity can be bypassed in this way. But you will only make your move, and decide on a direction in life once you are clear about what you want.

To have clarity of thought is what gives you the power to make changes. You cannot commit fully to a new direction if you are turning your head and looking over your shoulder for a glimpse of what you might be missing. To move on you need to do so with tunnel vision. This is really important because whatever you imagine you create and whatever you focus upon you attract into your reality.

If you are looking forwards one moment and imagining, for instance, yourself in a nice new job and then the next moment you are looking back and allowing yourself to think about the things you enjoy in your present job your focus is not at all clear. Be aware also that every thought you have has energy, and in this type of hesitant attempt at change you are creating some energy which moves you forward and then some more which tugs you backwards. You will feel like a log floating on the tide as the tide is turning and you will not know which way you are facing from one moment to the next.

But unlike the tide, which you know will eventually turn in its own time and take you with it, your life will only move and change when you make the decision to move and change. And that decision has to be clear and heart-felt. Once you have made your mind up, and have decided for example to leave your present job and move to another one, you have to be aware that to look back over your shoulder will only pull you backwards, with a wave of negative energy surrounding you and pulling at your emotions.

Instead, every time you feel a tiny urge to look back, it is important to be resolute and keep your focus firmly in front of you. It is very helpful at such a time to imagine your life as you want it to be, to really picture your new job and your new co-workers and the fun that you will have. And if you start to think of things which feel at all uncomfortable, intentionally find a way in which to change them in your mind's eye. The key is to picture what you want to happen, and feel as you want to feel. This provides you with clarity and positive energy which will power your resolve.

This principle is true whether you are thinking about moving on in work, or in leaving home, going abroad or leaving your relationship. You have to be single minded and clear in your focus. You have to be strong and not allow yourself to look back over your shoulder as this will only create a negative energy force which will sweep you right back to whence you came.

You can use hypnosis for additional help. Hypnosis will help you relax and remain calm through times of change. It will also provide you with easy access to your creative and subconscious mind and so your visualizations will have greater clarity. If you really know what you want, the only way in which to make a change is to don a set of blinkers and step resolutely forwards.

What Not to Put in Your Social Network Profile

What Not to Put in Your Social Network Profile by Otello Zorina

Online social networks have rapidly increased in popularity, especially over the past couple of years. Social networking websites are popular because they easily allow you to find, connect with, and develop friendships with other internet users, often ones that share the same interests as you. To find those individuals, you must join a social networking website and create a profile. It is often advertised that your social networking profile is the key to making and finding friends online.

As previously mentioned, your social networking profile is important when it comes to meeting other internet users. This is because, in most cases, internet users are looking to chat with someone who has the same goals, views, beliefs, and interests as they do. Without a personal profile, it would be difficult or impossible to tell what your interests are. That is why social networking profiles are not only important, but they are needed.

When it comes to social networking profiles, a lot of focus has been placed on what you should include in your profile or display on your profile page. It has been said that pictures produce the best responses, as well as detailed personal information. Although a picture and detailed personal information may help to increase your page views, you may be getting views that you do not necessarily want. Despite what you may believe, most social networking websites do not have restrictions on who can view your personal profile. In fact, internet users, even those that do not belong to your online community, can easily see profile.

Since anyone, literally anyone, can see your social networking profile, on most social networking websites, you are advised to be cautious. Essentially, this means that instead of focusing on what you should put in your online profile, you should be focusing on what not to put. This is one the best ways to protect your safety, both on and offline.

As previously mentioned, pictures are often recommended with social networking websites. If you are interested in positing a personal picture of yourself in your online profile you can do so, but you are advised to carefully choose that picture. While you will want to look your best, you are advised against posting a picture that is too revealing or seductive in nature. Most internet users can look at these types of pictures without feeling a thing, but for others these types of pictures spell danger.

If you make the decision to post a picture of yourself in your social networking website profile, you need to be careful about the rest of the information that you post. Although you may not necessarily think about it, a picture is just a picture, but combined with your name and address, it could be a deadly combination. You are advised to only post your first name in your profile. This will make it more difficult for anyone to try and contact you off of the internet.

It is also advised that you carefully choose your location. A large number of online social networking sites require that you select a city, as well as a state. If it is allowed, you may only wish to list your state and not the city. If you are required to list the city and the state that you live in, you may want to think about using a nearby city or town, especially if you live in a small town. If an internet predator wanted to contact you and you lived in a small town, it could be fairly easy for them to find you. That is why it is advised that you carefully select the answer to the location question.

In addition to the above precautionary measures, it is advised that you do not post detailed information on your children, the location of your home, your income, or when you will be leaving for vacation. By keeping these and the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to enjoy online social networking without having to always look behind your back.

You Will Only Hit What You Aim For

You Will Only Hit What You Aim For
by: Roseanna Leaton

i

If you aim for the moon at the very least you will end up amongst the stars. If you do not take aim you will surely fail, and as you seek to justify your failure you may even cause yourself physical illness.

This statement popped in on my e-mail this morning as a motivational message of the day. It states the truth. A child who did not try to walk would only ever crawl, and would eventually come to believe that there was "something wrong with them" that prevented them from walking. Although they would think that they had something physically wrong, it would in reality be their mind which had stopped them in their tracks.

I am reminded of another saying; if you aim for the moon and you miss you will at least end up amongst the stars. It is amazing how many of us don't even try to do something because of some sort of mental blockage, usually experienced as fear. In avoiding that fear, we at the same time avoid so many opportunities which we might otherwise have enjoyed. The knock on effect of knowing that we have missed such opportunities can often lead to bitterness and further negativity.

At the same time we can find ourselves searching for something to justify why we did not even try. Like the figurative child who grows to believe that there is something physically wrong with them that prevents them from walking, the human mind is all to adept at thinking that something physical is the cause of failure. It is easier to think that one's failure to aim for the moon was due to the wrong weather, wrong temperature, and wrong direction, wrong anything...or to believe that you do not have the right tools, or the right equipment, and so on.

The difference between the person who aims for the moon and the person who does not aim at all is in reality all in how they each choose to think. The outer elements remain the same. One who aims for the moon will seek to find the necessary tools and equipment; they will find a way to get there simply by choosing to take aim. The person who chooses not to take aim will seek to justify their position, often causing physical illness to themselves along the way.

How can physical illness be caused? Take the child who does not try to walk; what happens to those unused muscles? They waste away. This is only one example of physical impairment which can be caused by ones mental attitude. Your mind can have a very great impact upon your physical well being. Your body is in fact a mirror of your mind and scientific research is now providing proof of this phenomenon. Every thought you have has the ability to transmit signals from your brain to every cell in your organism. It pays both mentally and physically to pay attention to what you are thinking.

Most people however are unaware of this connection. They think that a physical illness is just physical, and believe that their mind is an entirely separate entity. This pattern of belief also justifies an abrogation of responsibility about one's health. It encourages one to simply go to your local GP and expect a cure for any symptoms imaginable, no manner how your thoughts and behavior have contributed to the illness suffered.

Obesity issues are a perfect example of this. How many people now resort to gastric banding? Or diet pills? Or any number of novel surgical procedures? Is this not a wonderful example of abrogating ones responsibility for one's own health? Yes, there are some people who do have a physical cause of their obesity. But far more people do not; they just haven't found a way to get their mind around the subject of weight loss. They haven't found the right way in which to take aim.

No matter what it is you would like to achieve, you will only hit what you aim for.

Social Work - Get Busy and Get Social!

Social Work - Get Busy and Get Social! by Lauren Hobson

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you've probably heard about Social Networking and how important it is to your small business web presence. Not too long ago, all you needed for an online presence was a web site, maybe with some online shopping capability, and email. But now that Social Networking has blasted onto the scene, there are new technologies that are becoming so popular that you may not be able to ignore them for much longer! So yes, it's time to take the plunge and learn about Social Networking.

Social Networking is described by marketing expert John Jantsch as "the use of technology combined with social interaction to create or co-create value." This technology includes blogs, micro-blogs (like Twitter), RSS, social search sites (like Technorati), social networks (like LinkedIn and Facebook), and social bookmarking sites (like de.licio.us) - all designed to make it easier to connect with others through social interaction on the web.

But one of the frustrating things about social networking is that like most new things, it takes time to learn and understand before it can become truly useful. So to help you tackle the "social work" of learning about Social Networking, here are some suggestions for learning the basics:

- Read other people's blogs. If you don't already have a list of regular blogs that you read, use a blog search engine to find and subscribe to a few blogs you are interested in. Look for industry blogs, blogs from experts, and even read your competitors' blogs. This will help you understand how people in your industry use blogs, which will in turn help you become better equipped to write blog posts for your own company.

- Use Social Bookmarking. Social bookmarking sites like del.icio.us allow users to tag interesting pages or articles, put them in specific categories, and then share them publicly. Be sure to bookmark your own articles that you find on the web, or pages that mention your business, and ask others to do the same for you. These bookmarks are like "votes" for your content and can also help build inbound links, which is critical for boosting search engine rankings.

- Set up a Profile on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the most popular social networking site for businesses, and it's pretty easy to use and make connections. Just follow the steps to set up a profile, then start experimenting with joining groups, adding applications, and making connections. You can even upload the contacts from your Outlook address book and find out which ones are already using LinkedIn!

- Try Twitter. One of the new social sites creating a lot of buzz is Twitter, which is a micro-blogging platform that allows users to keep in touch using short, 140-character "tweets." Five Sparrows recently added Twitter to its regular marketing routine with clients as a way to instantly provide them with useful, interesting information and special deals or promotions. Twitter has a lot of potential as a mobile marketing tool since it allows small businesses to reach customers wherever they are; whether they are at their computers or carrying around their cell phones (and at least for now, it's free!).

NOTE: If you'd like to receive valuable web tips, free resources, special deals, and other useful information, you can follow Five Sparrows on Twitter here: http://www.fivesparrows.com/campaigns/articles/twitter.htm

There is of course a lot to learn with Social Networking, especially since the tools and technologies continue to change and evolve all the time. But with a little effort and some basic understanding, you can add some Social Networking strategies to your marketing routine and start improving your overall presence on the web. Eventually, it can lead to increased organic, natural traffic and better search engine rankings for your web site.

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Blog

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Blog by Otello Zorina

Do you know what the main purpose of a social networking website is? If you are an avid internet user, you likely do. Social networking websites are online communities that make it easier for internet users to meet and communicate with each other. If you are an internet user who enjoys using the internet to meet new people, there is a good chance that you already belong to a social networking website. What about an online blog? Do you have one of them? If you do, do you know that you could use your social networking website to promote your blog?

Promote your blog? Why would you want to do that? Honestly, if you have to ask yourself that question you probably shouldn't even have one. The whole purpose of a blog is to document your thoughts, views, and opinions on a particular topic, issue, or subject. What good will your blog do if no one reads it. In addition to sharing your thoughts with the rest of the world, did you know that you could also make money from your blog? You can signup for affiliate programs or other programs like Google Adsense. If you are using your blog to make money then you will defiantly want to promote it.

When it comes to promoting blogs, there are many blog owners who decide to let the search engine do the work for them. Search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN use special techniques that reads the content on your website. That content is then used to rank your website with particular keywords. This means that you run a blog on graduating from high school in New York, there is a good chance that your blog will appear in searches done on New York high schools. Although many blogs are successfully ranked in search engines, not all are. That is why you are advised against relying solely on search engines, when it comes to promoting your blog.

As previously mentioned, if you love meeting with or talking to people online, there is a good chance that you belong to a social networking website or community. The individuals that you talk to and that are in your community are likely the individuals that you wish to target. Since most social networking websites work to connect internet users who have the same goals and common interests, there is a good chance that your online friends will enjoy reading your blog. But, before they can read your blog, you have to let them know that it exists.

When it comes to promoting your blog on social networking websites, you have a number of different options. Your first option is to include a link to your blog in your community profile or profile page. This will allow other community members to checkout your blog, only if they wish to do so. The other way is to inform your online friends of your blog through private messages. Once you join a social networking website and create or join a network of friends, you should easily be able to communicate with those friends. Sending each of your friends a private message with information and a link to your blog tends to be more effective than just placing a link in your profile or on your profile page.

Although there is a good chance that you are already a member of a popular social networking website, you may not be. If you are not already a member, but would like to become one, you will need to find a social networking website to join. This can easily be done with a standard internet search. In your search, you will likely find a number of popular network sites, such as MySpace, Facebook, FriendFinder, Yahoo! 360, and Orkut. Before becoming a community member at one of these networking sites, you may want to first examine the website to ensure that it is everything that you want it to be.

As you can easily see, there are a number of different ways that you can go about promoting your blog on online social networking websites. You never known, but, in addition to promoting your blog, you may also make new friends along the way.

Attitude of Entitlement and the Law of Attraction

Attitude of Entitlement and the Law of Attraction
by: Rick Walker

In some of my postings, both here and on other's sites, I have made reference to what I call the "Age" or "Era of Entitlement". I believe there is a growing perception, even belief, on behalf of many in today's western society that they deserve, or are "entitled", to positions, status and/or wealth for which others have had to earn. I propose that this pervasive societal belief is interfering with many people success using the Law of Attraction to manifest their Desired Outcomes.

Historically, one has had to work one's way up "the ladder", through a hierarchical series of positions as one demonstrated one's work ethic and/or value to a company. This process had its weaknesses in that it was predicated on the integrity and ethics of superiors (in "position", not necessarily "ability") to notice the value of the employees under their supervision and promote them accordingly. The process was subject to abuse, through "kingdom builders" promoting only their clones or those they could manipulate most easily so as to build a personal "fiefdom" within a given corporate structure. In like manner, those who did not "toe" the corporate line or submit to a superior's authority would likely find their promotion upward delayed or denied. However, in a general sense, it allowed those with knowledge and ability to rise upward to positions of progressively greater authority and, more importantly, corporate liability consistent with their increasing level of experience.

Entitlement

It seems to me that, in today's society, there is an expectation that one is "entitled" to the position they desire rather than having to earn it. I suggest this "attitude of entitlement" is the direct result of one or more of the following:

Educational Elitism
Level of Parental Care - Parents provision for their children's needs,
Change in the Moral Fabric of Western Society, and / or
Unreasonable Expectations

1. Educational Elitism

a. As an employer, I have run into this position on many occasions. In interviewing a candidate from one university, I am shocked to discover their entry level salary expectations, after simply completing a four year B.Sc. program, is equivalent to my working salary (B.Sc., M.Sc. and over twenty years experience). This attitude derives from the reputation (perceived or deserved) of the university from which they graduated, in that they graduated from "U of whatever" and so there is a premium attached to hiring them on that basis.

Comparable students, with comparable education from another university, have more reasonable salary expectations (more consistent with Industry Standards). It is my practice to provide a starting salary and, after a probationary period and some work experience, to raise their salary, if justified by work ethic, leadership, results, etc. (value to the corporation). They earn their salary based on demonstrated merit (value).

b. As an acknowledged gross simplification, I suggest that the recent financial crisis was due to a set of elitist MBA graduates from reputable business schools, hired into positions of authority on "Wall Street" for which they were poorly qualified (on the basis of experience), implementing theoretical practices (extending credit to high-risk clients, then packaging that bad debt for sale to other financial institutions) with little real world practical results. (As more information has come to light, it is increasingly difficult to believe that credit was so widespread to so many unable to service the resulting debt load).

c. Executive Benefit Packages. Who will soon forget the image of the High Paid Corporate guns from the Big Three automakers, each showing up on Capital Hill in their personal corporate jets to request financial bail-out packages worth billions? Who can forget the executives of so many financial institutions, clamouring for urgently needed financial bail-outs, only to give themselves HUGE executive compensation packages from those same bail-out funds? It used to be that executive compensation packages were in the order of 40 times that of the average employee. Now they are 400x time that, or more. The same people responsible, in large degree, for the current financial crisis.

2. Level of Parental Care

Arguably, for the first time in history, the middle and, to a lesser extent, lower class of society have been able to provide their children with a better lifestyle than their own. With the advent of widespread social programs in the 20th century, health and education systems have been made available throughout society (as a generalization, I realize there are flaws). In particular, more students have been able to avail themselves of a post secondary education (trade school, college or university) and, therefore, secure more desirable, better paying jobs than their parents.

Most importantly, the struggles that our parents and, more specifically our grandparents, dealt with in raising their children is largely unknown to, at least, the middle class in western society. One outcome of this cultural phenomenon is that the current generation has little appreciation of the value of money and has become a society of disposable consumerism. We need to have the fastest, newest and the best, irregardless of whether what we have is sufficient to our needs. In addition, we have become a society that believes it is entitled to what it wants.

3. Change in the Moral Fabric of Western Society

Another of the recent changes in modern society has been a transition to a fault-less society. "It is not my fault" and "I come from a dysfunctional family" are examples of typical excuses. I suggest that most, if not every, family is dysfunctional to some degree. I believe we are responsible for our own actions. If we have weaknesses, then we should deal with them (mental illness being an exception), not persist in using them as crutches to avoid responsibility for our actions.

James Allen, in "Light on Life's Difficulties" might be summarized as stating "As You Think, So Shall You Become". If we live the philosophy that "It is not our fault", then I suspect we will have difficulty in advancing in our chosen profession. Who would reasonably put someone in a position of responsibility if they take the position that they are not responsible for the outcomes of their direct actions? I wouldn't.

Again, I would argue it is a factor contributing to an attitude of entitlement.

4. Unreasonable Expectations

Unreasonable expectations is a very general term for which I have not yet identified additional, underlying causes for an "Attitude of Entitlement". Unreasonable expectations can, certainly, originate from the three categories proposed above, however, I don't believe they, as yet, capture many other circumstances. Therefore, at this time, this represents a "catch all" category for a work in progress.

The Attitude of Entitlement and the Law of Attraction

The Attitude of Entitlement, I believe, pervades much of the last decades worth of material (books, magazines, movies, Internet resources) pertaining to the "Law of Attraction". The most palatable means of selling material to a society that demands "Something for Nothing" (i.e. entitlement) is through the philosophy espousing "Something for Nothing". It just won't sell, or sell as much, if a potential customer has to work for their desired goal. Visualize it, release it to the Universe (the One, the All, Universal Intelligence, or whatever) and it will manifest itself ... no further effort required.

The belief appears to be "I am entitled to it, I shouldn't have to work for it". I believe this is why so many are frustrated / disappointed / disillusioned with the "Law of Attraction". It does require effort, it does require work and, most of all, it does require you to give something in order to achieve your desired goal.

What are the easiest plants to grow in your flower or vegetable garden - domesticated plants or weeds? It requires continual action (effort) to keep your garden free of weeds. The animals you see everywhere about you (except in a zoo or game farm), are they expending effort (energy) to survive? (As an aside: how many times it's body weight does a swallow have to eat in insects daily to survive)? Is there any natural example in the plant or animal kingdom in which the subject does not have to expend effort (energy) merely to survive (and we are not even talking about achieving goals or desired outcomes)?

What is it about mankind that makes us believe we, as a species, are not subject to the same laws to achieve our goals? On the simplest level, we need to expend effort (energy) in order to survive, even if it is just to go to the Grocery store for our daily needs. Give some thought to the work force underlying the distribution network required to supply us with our minimal needs required on a daily basis (read the chapter on "Organized Planning" in Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich")? For example, a single refinery in Edmonton, Alberta was temporarily shut down recently and the downstream result has been a fuel shortage throughout western Canada as the other refineries struggle to meet the summer vacation demand.

Goals (Desired Outcomes)

I am stymied by the pervasive belief attached, by some, to the "Law of Attraction" suggesting that people can sit down at their breakfast table, visualize $1 million dollars, release it to the Universe (or whatever), then go back to the morning paper, comfortable in the knowledge that their desired outcome is, even then, racing toward them ... with no further effort required. This is only the case for the 1 in 200 million who bought the correct lottery number for that week.

The Law of Attraction is firmly and, unfortunately for some, irrevocably rooted in a requirement for effort in support of realizing your goals (dreams). The qualifier is that the work needs to be directed toward receipt of your goal.

If you desire $1 million, what are you prepared to give for it? You may only be prepared to invest $1 for the lottery ticket, trusting to luck.

"Luck is Preparedness Meeting Opportunity" - Earl Nightingale (Lead the Field)

Implicitly stated in the above quote is the requirement for work, resulting in "Preparedness". You must undertake preparatory work in order to receive your desired outcome, in order to prepare yourself for when opportunity presents itself.

For example, if you wish to make your millions through a passive on-line web-site, surely it will require work to develop your product, learn the necessary marketing strategies and build your web-site. Perhaps you are going to buy a web-site or have someone else build it for you. Therefore, you will probably need to work for the money with which to pay for these services.

Napoleon Hill interviewed many of the most wealthy Industrialists, Businessmen, Inventors in the early 20th century and categorized their character traits leading to their sucess. In neither "Think and Grow Rich" nor "Law of Success" does he state that one need only sit back and wait for success to fall upon you.

Examine the work ethis oc today's successful to determine if any of them have worked for their success. Bill Gates? Donald Trump? Michael Jackson? U2? Aerosmith? Have they not given something in return for their success? Can you honestly expect to do otherwise?

I believe the critical aspect to the "Law of Attraction" is the extent to which you must work for your desired outcome. Most of the working world works hard at getting ahead, however, they are unaware of, or do not utilize, the power of the "Law of Attraction". Utilization of the Law of Attraction allows you to leverage your work effort, allowing you to do less work toward your Desired Outcome than without the law.

Summary of the process underlying the Law of Attraction

1. Visualize your objective (Desired Outcome) in as much detail as you can. Write it down, commit it to paper, put together a Vision Board or, better yet, a Mind Movie. Have a tangible record of your objective (Napoleon Hill's "Definite Chief Aim"). Associate as much emotion (a Burning Desire) with this goal as you can. Live it, breathe it, expect it.

2. Take the appropriate action to receive it. Be consciously aware of any, and all, opportunities to take you closer to your goal. Perhaps it is through corporate advancement (with associated benefits) or a lateral move to another company. Perhaps it is only the intuitive feeling that you need to buy a lottery ticket for the next draw.

However, make no mistake, there is action required in order to achieve your dreams. Take a very close look at those who claim otherwise and you will, in most (if not all) cases, find they have put in effort (and successfully leveraged others efforts) to achieve their goals.

Conclusion

Visualize, then take appropriate action to realize your dreams.

I believe society needs to change its collective mind set. I don't believe we are entitled to anything we have not earned. We can, however, leverage our work effort, and dramatically leverage it, through application of the Law of Attraction so as to legitimately earn our desired outcomes, our objectives, our goals.

Thoughtful and consistent application of the Law of Attraction, the full underlying process of "Visualization", followed by appropriate "Action", is what separates those who work hard and those who work, seemingly effortlessly, to achieve their goals.

ABC's of Web 2.0

ABC's of Web 2.0 by S. Housley

Web 2.0 is a perceived transition of the Web to web-based applications. Web 2.0 is the next generation of technology solutions where interactive content is the norm.

There is no agreement on exactly what Web 2.0 means. Depending on who you are speaking with, you may receive different explanations. At it's heart, Web 2.0 is about the maturity of the Web. While many refer to Web 2.0 as companies that employ powerful web technologies, the key components of Web 2.0 are said to include: the Web as a platform, collaboration, and syndication.

Here are the "ABC's" of Web 2.0...

A - Ajax

Ajax is an abbreviation for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, and is a web development technique for creative interactive web applications. Many Web 2.0 websites use Ajax to interact with website visitors.

B - Blog

Blogs are web logs that are updated regularly, usually on a daily basis. They contain information related to a specific topic. In many cases, blogs are used simply as daily diaries about people's personal lives, political views, or even as social commentaries. The truth of the matter is that blogs can be shaped into whatever you, the author, want them to be.

C - Collaboration

Collaboration is a hallmark of Web 2.0. Building communities and developing content from multiple contributors is part of what is unique about these second-generation websites.

D - Dynamic

Content Dynamic content refers to content which is obtained from another source, and which is automatically updated whenever the source content changes.

E - ECommerce

Ecommerce comes from the phrase "Electronic Commerce", which basically means selling things over the Internet. Many websites now conduct financial transactions over the Internet. Ecommerce is simply a vehicle for collecting payments online.

F - Folksonomy

Folksonomy is a means of classifying and categorizing data on the web through collaborative efforts from the online community. While not strictly synonymous to the term, this is more commonly known as "tagging", where keywords are associated with items or links. The keywords are used to classify the items.

G - Global Navigation

Global navigation refers to a somewhat standardized navigational menu structure that encompasses all the main pages on the website. Regardless of the particular web page you are on, you can navigate to any other part of the website using the global navigation system.

H - Hosted Application

Hosted applications are typically interactive programs that reside on the Internet, and are designed to run on the Internet rather than being downloaded and installed on the user's computer.

I - Information Architecture

Information architecture describes the structure and methodology by which information (such as website content) is organized.

J - JavaScript

JavaScript is a cross-platform, object-based scripting language developed by Netscape for client and server applications. It is commonly used in web pages to add interactivity and to dynamically update content.

K - Knowledgebase

A knowledgebase is a collection of facts, rules, and procedures that are organized into a searchable format. In Web 2.0, website knowledgebases are usually interactive.

L - Long Tail

The phrase "long tail" pertains to search engine results. The "long tail" of search follows the thinking that the combined total results of multiple less-popular terms will exceed the results of a single more-popular term. Many webmasters have given up their hope of ranking well for the extremely popular terms, and instead are focused on ranking well for the less-popular but more abundant terms or phrases.

M - Mashups

Mashups are the result of merging content from a variety of different sources, and thus creating new content based on the merging and filtering of the resulting content.

N - Newsreader

A newsreader is a software tool or web application that is used to read and manage RSS feeds.

O - OPML

OPML stands for Outline Processor Markup Language, and is a standard for people wishing to import or export their RSS feed subscriptions.

P - Podcasting

Podcasting is online audio content that is delivered via an RSS feed. Many people equate podcasting to "radio on demand". However, in reality, podcasting offers far more options in terms of content and programming than radio does. In addition, podcast listeners can determine the time and the place of their listening, meaning that they decide what programming they want to receive and when they want to listen to it. Listeners can retain audio archives to listen to at their leisure. While blogs have turned many bloggers into journalists, podcasting has the potential to turn podcasters into radio personalities.

Q - Query

A query is a phrase or a group of words, possibly combined with other syntax, used to pass instructions to a search engine or a directory in order to locate web pages.

R - RSS

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is a standard for syndicating content online. RSS feeds are used to provide real-time information to interested parties.

S - Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking and social networks are collaborative efforts that use democracy and voting to influence the importance of items that are bookmarked.

T - Tags

Tags are descriptive keywords that are used to classify and categorize items or URLs on social networks.

U - User-Generated

Content User-generated content refers to website content that is created by the users themselves. It can be in the form of message posts on discussion groups, blogs, comments on blog postings, wiki entries, etc.

V - Vlog

Vlog comes from the phrase "video blog". This is a blog that mainly publishes video content rather than audio content. Video podcasting is sometimes called vodcasting.

W - Wiki

Wikis are a collaborative environment that is built around input from community users.

X - XML

XML stands for eXtensible Markup Language. XML is often used to update dynamic web content.

Y - YouTube

YouTube is a highly popular Web 2.0 video hosting website that allows users to submit, view, and rate videos.

Z - ZeeEnd

How to Create a Podcast

How to Create a Podcast by Diane Mumm

How to Use and Make Podcast

Podcasting is becoming a popular term among technologically savvy individuals. It is described as an online audio content delivered through an RSS feed. Several people relate to podcasting to radio on demand. In reality, podcasting provides a lot of several options in terms of programming and content compared to the standard radio. You can use and make podcast by simply following a few guidelines. Here are some tips to start with.

The Uses

Podcasting can be used for playing music, such as band promotional interviews and clips. It can be used for self-guided walking tours, since it gives informational content. It can help in training courses by providing instructional and informational materials. It can help in talk shows by featuring investor news, news coverage, commentaries and industry and organizational news. Podcast can also be used for story telling for kids and individuals who are visually impaired.

The podcast is a program, may be video or audio, that is made available as a downloadable digital file. It is often a spoken word, usually released through periods as part of a series and also frequently offered through web syndication. The podcast is a collection of all episodes and shows of a given program series that is delivered this way. The person creating the content is called a podcaster and the method is known as podcasting.

Creating the Podcast

To create a podcast, you need to record a minimum of one "episode" of the program. Audio is usually the show in most podcasts. You will need a program that supports mp3 format audio to get to the biggest audience. There are a few excellent free programs available that you can easily download online. Save the finished episode as an mp3 file. Upload the mp3 files to the website. In the tutorial, you should have uploaded the files to a folder named podcasts found inside the main web directory.

Instead of following the final steps, you can also opt to use the feedburner service. Feedburner will simplify the function of making podcast RSS feeds. As soon as you familiarize yourself with the process you will realize that podcasting becomes relatively easy. Start a text editor then copy and paste the following information. Edit the title element to describe the show you are featuring, then alter the link to lead to the show's home page on the internet.

Final Notes

It is important to note that after you copy and paste, you have to carefully check to ensure that none of the punctuation has changed during the pasting process. A number of text editors and web browsers do not cooperate together. If the punctuation is wrong, use the text editor to fix or your podcast will not work. Change the URL attribute of the enclosure to accurately match the filename of the mp3 file of the first episode. Correct the URL to match the setup. Change the length attribute of the enclosure element to match the size of the mp3 file of the first episode in bytes. Commas should not be used.

Helping Users

You can instruct users how to manually subscribe to the podcast through podcatcher programs. You can register it also using a podcasting service. You can help users subscribe manually by displaying the URL of the file on the web page then remind users about the steps. Pull down the Advanced menu, choose subscribe to podcast, past the RSS feed URL into the box then finally click OK.

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Business

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Business by Otello Zori
The goal of most business owners is to make money. This often results with the selling of a particular product or service. However, to sell that product or service business owners need to alert the general public. Customer cannot buy a product or a service if they do not know that it exists. That is why, as a business owner, you need to advertise your business.

When it comes to advertising there are many business owners who literally cringe. Are you doing this now? There is a good chance that you are because many advertising methods cost money. As a business owner you want to make money not spend it, right? Unfortunately, if you believe that all forms of advertising take money, you are sadly mistaken. Although you may have to spend money to make your business what you want it to be, there are ways to promote your business and the products or services that you sell without having to spend any money at all.

Is your curiosity peaked yet? There is a good chance that it is, rightfully so. One of the ways that you can promote your online business, without having to spend a dime, is by using something that is readily available online. That thing is an online social networking website. A large number of internet users, in fact millions of them, belong to at least one social networking website.

When it comes to social networking, there are many individuals who think of online friendships or online relationships. While these types of relationships are the most common, did you know that social networking is also used for businesses? In fact, that was originally how social networking got started. If you are a small business owner, especially one that operates an online business, there is a way that you can use social networking sites to your advantage.

Although social networking websites are traditionally focused on those that would like to make online friends or develop online relationships, there are networking sites that are designed for business owners. These websites will not only allow you to share your business information with other business owners, but it will also allow you to develop close relationships with those that share an interest that is similar to yours. Essentially, this means that you could not only learn valuable business information, but you could also walk away with a new business partner or a new friend.

As previously mentioned, social networking websites with a focus on businesses, are a great way to promote your business. However, this does not mean that you should completely forget about the other online social networking websites, the ones that are designed to make online friendships. Although you may not learn any valuable business tips by joining Yahoo! 360 or MySpace, you may be able to get new customers and new customers is exactly what your business should want and need.

If you are looking to join an online community, you will need to create your own profile or profile page. If you are planning on joining a traditional social networking website, to gain access to millions of potential new customers, you are urged to be careful when making your online webpage or profile. One thing that internet users hate is being solicited for business. This does not mean that you cannot use social networking to your advantage; it just means that you need to be careful with how you do it. Instead of creating a MySpace page or a Yahoo! 360 page for your business, you are advised to make one for yourself, but, of course, you will want to include information on your business.

By joining a social networking website, especially one that is popular and has a large number of members, you should be able to generate interest in your business, including the products or services that you sell. Who knows, but that interest generated could turn into sales; thus making your social networking experience more than worth it.

Uninspired : 3 Simple Action Steps To Motivate You

Uninspired : 3 Simple Action Steps To Motivate You
by: Vanessa Million

i

“The future depends on what we do in the present”

Mahatma Gandhi

Uninspired : 3 Simple Action Steps To Motivate You

If you're feeling uninspired in an area of your life, i.e. your children, career, relationships, investments, or while working to achieve a significant goal, then this information will help you take action and get started. Here's what to do to do when you feel uninspired about your life...

Stop and take a deep breath and think about what you really want in your life. And ask yourself if you’re taking actions to move yourself in that direction? Then make an action plan, first things first, you need to make preparations to get started and move your life forward and that’s opposite of what many people do. Right now make a decision that you’re going to give your self a break and stop hitting yourself over the head. This means being gentle and kind to yourself even when you are feeling uninspired and unwilling to do the work to move forward. Yes I said be kind to yourself, everyone gets lost some times, what matters is what you choose to do now. It also means allowing yourself to feel your feelings of despair so you can stop wasting your life trying to deny and repress your true feelings. Moving forward means accepting all of yourself, the person who always does their best, the person who can be counted on for making last minuet cupcakes for your child, the one who can choose to take charge of their life right now by taking action steps to move yourself forward, and the person who even when they are unsure moves forward in faith and hope. My point is simple; don’t resist your feelings of not wanting to start and feeling uninspired, it only keeps you unmotivated and frozen.

Now that you know you are powerful and acknowledged where you are in your life, your goal is to create new behavioral patters that will change your life circumstances:

1. Take your power back. A huge mistake people make when feeling unmotivated is that we tell ourselves that we are helpless to change our life circumstances and that we are powerless because of a lack of financial resources, education, the size of our hips and thighs, that we are single, the influence of family and friends, or that we have way to many problems and it is all hopeless, the “poor pitiful me syndrome.” Every person on this planet has had to face challenges and has overcome obstacles. But your empowerment lies in you recognizing that you have the power and freedom to make choices. You are very powerful and wise; do not underestimate your wisdom. There may be very difficult choices to make like leaving an unsupportive relationship or taking a second job to relive financial strain, but you must realize that you have the freedom and power to make choices, even really hard ones and ones that just down right sink. But realize this, you always have a choice; do not mistake a hard choice with having no options and not being able to make a choice. YOU always have the power to make a choice.

2. Think New Thoughts. Feeling uninspired is a feeling in your mind, which you fuel by your constant self-defeating thoughts and constantly thinking about your problems. The thoughts that you think, for example; if you feel unlovable, it’s because you are constantly thinking unlovable thoughts about yourself. If you are feeling like a victim, it’s because you are thinking victimizing thoughts, telling yourself “I have no options and life is hard.” That’s the constant mantra running through your mind, or: “Who cares?”

Right here and now you must stop this self sabotaging habit and turn your thoughts in to thoughts that support you, thought that nourish your soul, your dreams, and your goals.

You are capable of doing anything!

You have the power with in you to overcome any obstacle whether or not you believe in your abilities, make a choice right here and now and tell yourself “I am capable of doing anything!” Say it in your mind constantly, before you go to sleep at night, say it first thing when you wake up and as a constant mantra all day at work or while raising the children at home. Just focus on saying to yourself “I am capable of doing anything!” And notice how you start to feel better and smile again. You deserve to put effort into yourself.

3. Have warm and supportive relationships. If you plan on succeeding, you must fill your life with positive and motivated people. Friendship with people who are extremely motivated with help you stay inspired.

Individuals who feel uninspired tend to gravitate towards one another, they tell themselves how the economy, or the world is unfair. They emotionally suck the life out of each other. Stop this right now; you will stay depressed and uninspired together. Find people who will share your joy, people who applaud your successes and share your vision of hope. When you are happy and successful, they come and celebrate your victories with you, don’t you deserve warm and supportive friend and allies.

In closing, if you are feeling motivated and ready to move forward, ask for help. The frustration you are feeling about being uninspired is because you are in a state of inaction. The first step to take is making a choice. Want to go back to college? Call a local community college and make an appointment with an advisor, find out if you qualify for financial aid, talk to them about career options. Remember you do have power to move your life forward; the key to becoming inspired is putting one foot in front of the other and doing it, consistency is the key.

~^~ Today I Take Action ~^~

1. Choose one area of your life that you'd like to change and identify three choices you do have available to you right now. If you can't come up with any, ask a friend for help.

2. Create a new screensaver that says the words "I CAN DO ANYTHING!" across your screen. If you're not sure how to do this, let your first action step be requesting help from someone who knows how.

3. Pick up the phone and schedule lunch, dinner, tea, or a catch-up conversation with a highly motivated friend who will support you in your quest for positive change. Ask him or her for help in creating a simple 5-step action plan.

If you found this information helpful please feel free to forward it to your friends, family, and colleagues.
